Founded by Annette Blackett, an experienced educator and Official Jolly Learning Trainer, our mission is to equip teachers, students, and communities with the skills they need to thrive through literacy, faith-based education, and lifelong learning.
With over 20 years of experience across Australia, the UK, Mozambique, and Papua New Guinea, Annette has trained thousands of teachers and empowered countless students using Systematic Synthetic Phonics (SSP) and Jolly Learning programs. Through her work, she ensures that every learner regardless of background has access to quality education in a nurturing, supportive environment.
We are committed to bridging language gaps, uplifting communities, and fostering a passion for literacy and learning worldwide.
Annette is a registered Primary Teacher (B.Ed.) with decades of experience and is currently pursuing a Master of Education (Leadership). Her career has been devoted to educating and equipping learners—from preschoolers to tertiary Initial Teacher Education (ITE) students and adult ESL learners.
With a passion for faith-driven, literacy-focused education, Annette has impacted students and teachers across Australia, the UK, Mozambique, and Papua New Guinea, ensuring that every learner has access to high-quality, transformative education.

Empowering Teachers, Transforming Lives in PNG
In 2017, East New Britain, PNG, the journey of delivering high-quality literacy education began with the first Jolly Phonics training for teachers at Destiny Transformation Schools (DTS). This was more than just professional development—it was the beginning of a movement to provide systematic synthetic phonics (SSP) instruction, helping teachers enhance literacy outcomes and foster a love for learning in their classrooms.
By 2019, the reach of Jolly Learning training had expanded across Papua New Guinea, equipping more educators with the skills to strengthen reading, writing, and language development. With the introduction of Jolly Grammar, teachers gained effective tools to build students’ literacy foundations, creating engaging and successful learning environments. This ongoing commitment to professional development and quality education continues to empower educators to transform classrooms and uplift communities—one lesson at a time.
Expanding Literacy Education in Port Moresby – 2019 Jolly Training
In 2019, Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar training reached Port Moresby, Central Province, further expanding the impact of Why Education Training and Destiny Transformation Schools (DTS). Teachers were equipped with evidence-based literacy instruction, empowering them to deliver structured reading and writing programs to students across PNG. This training provided innovative tools, multi-sensory teaching strategies, and faith-driven education to bridge literacy gaps and uplift entire communities. As a result, more children gained the opportunity to develop essential literacy skills, setting the foundation for lifelong learning and success.
